There came a time when I had to make an email address and firstnamelastname@hotmail.com was taken and/or it was better to hide your identity from the scary internet. I chose to become chicken_master02. Unsatisfied, and extremely cool by this stage, song lyrics made up the next couple of addresses. I'd like to thank
Dashboard and
The Strokes.
6 email addresses or so later... yay for Gmail!
This is when the web identity conundrum began, compounded by myspace URLs and more recently facebook (if you're still there!). I don't know about you but I've given my alias considerable thought over the years. I just don't have any nicknames that wouldn't read like a word you call your grandmother; that with a second bizarre word on the end or; expletives that your mother may take offence to.
xxlna (xxl na) isn't a dig at people who are actually extra-extra-large. That wouldn't be nice. I decided this time that I wouldn't consider a combination of words which represented me as my ego deemed sufficiently picture-painting and self serving. Instead I let my brother, who reminds me daily of my immensity, be the inspiration for this - hopefully the last time I have to construct one - interweb alias.
This is a personal blog which will largely pertain to me, Nathan. For want of an about me section (or page) I'm 21 and qualified as a Primary School Teacher in Brisbane, Australia. I'll save all of the terribly interesting other facts for the about me page which will happen at some point, probably. Expect to maybe find me writing about life, music, internet interestingness, technology (oh yeah) and you.
You can of course find me elsewhere as
tenast on last.fm (ten points if you work out how I came up with that one) and as
@nawebb on Twitter. I'll list my delicious account if you really want but 'sif you don't already have enough banality to pore over on the web.
I don't have a cool sign off,
Nathan.
