Moving!

Moving to wordpress. I decided that for the time being, I'm too lazy to do the CSS to make this place look good.

See you there!

Form, or lack thereof

As evidence from the last two posts would suggest, from my initial ideation to the finished blog, somewhere along the way my would-be-clever representation of an idea is not always fully realised. I like to be clever and give my 'articles' (lol) a flow of sorts but sometimes find myself getting out of the (wordsmithing) way of something which I feel just needs to be said and really is not requiring of great prose. This is, of course, according to what I consider to be important. Maybe I could employ an editor.

And so I don't forget to end what has been an acceptable blog with my point: Sometimes I sacrifice good form for getting to press the publish button because I can't maintain energy for the topic.

I think it may be time to write those much more exciting topics that I can supply lots of writing energy to.

I read/heard once that ending a sentence with 'to' is poor english. Does english need a capital E?

You'll never guess what I want to study next.

It started with cool sides of pillows

This is a justification blog. Oh dear.

I left facebook.

I suppose I left facebook to be more like Chris. He beat me to the (bowl of) punch. Here's some links about facebook: Here would be some links if I'd bothered to bookmark the decent articles I read. I'm going to continue as if they had been there, and that you could've chosen to read them, but probably wouldn't have.

I found these interesting to read, but being autonomous as I am (unless you buy into the idea that I just follow Christoph) here's the real reason:

I was disgruntled.

But please ask me why I left facebook if you want to know how it is I can survive without the photo-sharing and events and other super fun things. Maybe I'll have a great answer.

Introductions and identities

There came a time when I had to make an email address and firstnamelastname@hotmail.com was taken and/or it was better to hide your identity from the scary internet. I chose to become chicken_master02. Unsatisfied, and extremely cool by this stage, song lyrics made up the next couple of addresses. I'd like to thank Dashboard and The Strokes.

6 email addresses or so later... yay for Gmail!

This is when the web identity conundrum began, compounded by myspace URLs and more recently facebook (if you're still there!). I don't know about you but I've given my alias considerable thought over the years. I just don't have any nicknames that wouldn't read like a word you call your grandmother; that with a second bizarre word on the end or; expletives that your mother may take offence to.

xxlna (xxl na) isn't a dig at people who are actually extra-extra-large. That wouldn't be nice. I decided this time that I wouldn't consider a combination of words which represented me as my ego deemed sufficiently picture-painting and self serving. Instead I let my brother, who reminds me daily of my immensity, be the inspiration for this - hopefully the last time I have to construct one - interweb alias.

This is a personal blog which will largely pertain to me, Nathan. For want of an about me section (or page) I'm 21 and qualified as a Primary School Teacher in Brisbane, Australia. I'll save all of the terribly interesting other facts for the about me page which will happen at some point, probably. Expect to maybe find me writing about life, music, internet interestingness, technology (oh yeah) and you.

You can of course find me elsewhere as tenast on last.fm (ten points if you work out how I came up with that one) and as @nawebb on Twitter. I'll list my delicious account if you really want but 'sif you don't already have enough banality to pore over on the web.

I don't have a cool sign off,
Nathan.
